Article 01Purpose
These terms govern the sale, by Synap’Link, of Une Empreinte event sites and the options that go with them, to anyone who places an order on this site — hereinafter “you”.
Placing an order means you have read and accepted them. They are recalled and ticked on the order page, and you receive their link with your confirmation.
Article 02Who is selling
Synap’Link (sole trader), 13, rue de la Pépinière, 5000 Namur, Belgium, VAT BE 1034.436.506. Contact: info@synaplink.be, +32 465 39 53 08. Full details are in our legal notice.
Article 03What the site includes
An event site in your name, published at an address you choose, including, as described at the time of ordering:
- your link, to share by message or QR code;
- your guests’ replies, viewable and downloadable as a spreadsheet;
- the schedule, the venues and directions;
- the shared gallery, where your photos and those your guests upload appear, and the guestbook, where they leave you a message;
- unlimited changes to your content until the big day;
- hosting for the period stated on the order page.
The site is an online service: it is neither delivered on a physical medium nor installed on your premises. Its appearance follows the design you chose, and the previews shown before purchase are the actual rendering of that design, filled with demonstration content.
Article 04Options
Additional services may be added to the order, such as a domain name or extended hosting. Each is described and priced on the order page, and is only payable if you select it.
Printed products are made to your request and with your data: they have their own lead time, stated before purchase, and go into production only after you approve a proof we send you.
Article 05How the order is formed
You build your site freely, without an account and without payment. An account is only requested when you order, because you need somewhere to find your replies and your links.
The order is formed when you confirm the summary, accept these terms and pay the price. We confirm it by email, with the link to your site, the link to your replies and the one that reopens your editor.
Article 06Prices
Prices are in euros, all taxes included, and are those shown on the order page at the moment you confirm. They apply to one event and one site.
We may change our prices at any time; the change has no effect on orders already placed, whose details are fixed the second they are recorded.
Article 07Payment and going live
Payment is made in one go, at the time of ordering, by card through our secure payment provider. We never see your card number and do not store it.
Going live follows payment — in practice, within the hour. The public address you chose is then fixed: your invitations go out with it, and it can no longer change without breaking the links already sent.
Article 08Duration, retention, end
The site stays online for the period stated on the order page, from the day it goes live, and that period can be extended with the option provided for that purpose.
We notify you by email before the end date. When it is reached, the site is no longer accessible and its content is deleted; before that date, you may ask for a copy of your replies and photos, which we send you free of charge.
Article 09Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you have fourteen days from the conclusion of the contract to withdraw, without giving a reason and at no cost. Simply write to us at info@synaplink.be with an unambiguous statement, before the period expires. We refund you within fourteen days, using the same means of payment.
Two exceptions, provided for by law. They are the same everywhere, and article VI.53 of the Belgian Code of Economic Law lists them.
Immediate publication. An event site is sent to your guests as soon as it is ready: the order therefore includes your express request that it be published straight away, without waiting fourteen days. You make this request by ticking, before paying, a box separate from the acceptance of these terms, and you thereby acknowledge that once your site is published, your right of withdrawal ends. We keep the date and time of this request with your order.
What is printed in your name. The book and the invitations are made to your specifications: they are neither taken back nor exchanged once production has started, that is, after you approve the proof.
Model withdrawal form — to complete and send back to us only if you wish to withdraw:
To Synap’Link, 13, rue de la Pépinière, 5000 Namur, Belgium, info@synaplink.be: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from the contract for the provision of the service below. Ordered on: … Name of consumer: … Address of consumer: … Signature of consumer (only if this form is notified on paper): … Date: …
Article 10What you commit to
You are answerable for what you publish. In particular, you guarantee:
- that the information given is accurate — a wrong date, address or time is your responsibility alone, and your guests will act on it;
- that you hold the rights to the photos uploaded, and that the recognisable people in them have consented;
- that your content is not unlawful, abusive or infringing on anyone’s rights;
- that you keep an eye on what your guests leave on your site: a guestbook message or a photo appears without prior review, and you can hide the one or remove the other at any time from your replies page. We ourselves remove any manifestly unlawful content as soon as it is reported to us;
- that you inform your guests of how their replies are used — we help you: the form links to our privacy policy.
You are responsible for keeping your login details and the private links we send you confidential: whoever holds the link to your replies can read them.
Article 11If something goes wrong
We owe you a service that matches what is described here and on the order page. If it does not, write to us: we fix it free of charge and within a reasonable time. If a fix is impossible or delayed, you are entitled to a price reduction or a refund, depending on how serious the defect is.
These are the rights the law gives you; nothing in these terms reduces them. Our liability does not, however, cover damage that does not result from our service — a misinformed caterer, a guest who does not read their message, a guest’s phone breaking down.
Article 12Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close a site whose content is manifestly unlawful, after informing you and, where the situation allows, giving you the chance to correct it. No refund is due in that case. You, for your part, may ask at any time for your site to be deleted: deletion is immediate and final, with no refund for the remaining time.
Article 13Personal data
The details of what we collect, why, for how long and who else has access to it are in our privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
Article 14Force majeure
Neither party is liable for a failure caused by an event beyond its reasonable control — a major outage at a hosting provider, a widespread network failure, a disaster, an order from an authority. If the impediment lasts more than thirty days, either party may end the contract, and the unperformed part is refunded.
Article 15Complaints and mediation
A complaint should first be addressed to us, at info@synaplink.be: it is the shortest route, and we reply.
If we cannot reach an agreement, you may refer the matter free of charge to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service — Boulevard du Roi Albert II 8 box 1, 1000 Brussels.
Article 16Applicable law and courts
The contract is governed by Belgian law, without depriving you, if you are a consumer, of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the country where you live. Failing an amicable agreement, the courts of the district of Namur have jurisdiction; a consumer may still bring proceedings before the courts of their place of residence.
Article 17Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one online on the day you place it, dated at the top of this page; a later change does not apply to it.
